    Graduate Architect

Using design thinking for advocacy in everything that we do, communicating across different ways of thinking, and being a part of deepening our collective knowledge and compassion for the place we live, and the people we live with.

Frances joined The Fulcrum Agency as a Graduate Architect in 2023, where she has specialised in masterplan and community infrastructure projects across remote locations in Australia’s top end. She regularly supports senior staff on trips into community and understands the rewards and complexities of working in this space.

As a PhD Candidate at Curtin University, Frances’s research – ‘Loving Waters: honouring and respecting Indigenous water knowledge for recuperation and coexistence with healthy waters in Nyoongar Country’ – reflects her commitment to culturally responsive design practices, though her thesis is currently on hold as she focuses on developing her professional practice.

Prior to joining TFA, Frances worked at With_ Architecture Studio, contributing to projects ranging from urban masterplans to refined, smaller-scale designs. Her diverse background includes an international internship in Switzerland, experience as an arts support worker with DADAA, and roles as both a university instructor and volunteer English teacher.

This breadth of experience informs her approach to architecture that balances technical excellence with cultural sensitivity.
